an& on the map

Not a ton of postage taking place the past few weeks, life is busy and I’ve been off and about doing many a random thing in pursuit of the American Dream…. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, but seriously.

Can’t think of a better way to usher in new blogage then with my favorite brand the an& Fam. I have made posts in the past, but they have been centered around much more exclusive content in regards to the brand, what they are doing, and how you can get ahold of the awesomeness that is them… Well those days are over. The minds behind the an& have brought their wares to the digital world for all to enjoy.

http://www.theandbrand.com/

Most of you who will read this already know about them and what they do/offer, but for those who don’t here is a quick overview of some of their products and a bit about why you should be completely stoked on what they are doing.

Our goal is to blend influences from all aspects of our lives into a unified brand that represents how we live.

Words that sum up the underlying core competencies of the brand and really the personalities behind everything that goes into it. This is not just another clothing company that is pushing out the same crap as everyone else. There is an actual devotion and dedication that goes into every single piece they create, down to the finest detail. There is an actual passion for blending the heavy urban/underground/hip hop influence of the day to day into their work, and it really can be seen without even pointing it out. With so many clothing lines out, and kids realizing that making a shirt can be as simple as hitting up dafont.com then calling the local screen print joint, it’s nice to see something different.

blah blah I talk to much, VISUALS.

hats done in collab with 3G. Really nothing to say, they are awesome.

Personal Fav

I really can’t say enough about the quality of the work they do, it’s above and beyond most gear I have bought in stores from large brands. There is a real difference when there is hand crafted care put into something that people care about, vs. garments pumped out in the masses. They have a limited run of everything, I would highly recommend jumping on this before everything is gone and you regret not having a piece of what will inevitably be a staple brand.

That’s it for now, I do want to quickly mention that they have a side business called sew legit, but I will be doing a larger post about that at some point in the near future. Until then GET AT THEIR SITE.

Tribute to MMO music…

Not sure why, not sure why not, but this is happening. A post dedicated to music from MMO’s all the way back to the original MIDI domination that was the soundtrack for Ultima Online.

Nothing to be said, just listen and enjoy.

Ultima Online (Britannia Theme – please correct me if I am wrong, literally pulling this from memory.)

Britannia Theme

My personal favorite (the log in screen). This song literally brings back the crack like cravings I have for this game….

Log In Screen

Now onto Asheron’s Call, possible the second best game of all time EVER…

Drudge Dance — Oh that’s right they don’t post anything because Turbine is a bunch of STINKERS. Just kidding, AC was legit, selling out and firing the people who made it… NOT legit, especially since you dropped Asheron’s Call 2 which is the game that demonstrated failure to the MMO community.

Ok onto Everquest, another staple in the game world. This game really ushered in the idea of a “massive” world and battle on different planes of existence, and a pretty awesome PvP system too boot.

TiTle Screen

Now I am going to jump ahead, because I already missed the “post this shit before 12″ deadline I set, but I can’t make this without posting up Lineage II music. The game was ok, but the pure level grind of it eventually killed it off. Even being the #1 Gladiator on the East Coast still didn’t salvage this one for me. Not to mention NC Soft literally DOES NOT care to hire a good enough team to properly translate the code and the game story over to the US version, or almost all of their games.

Since they are lame you will have to just peep the site. It’s worth it, the songs are really high quality and WELL beyond what you will find in almost any game to this date.

Lineage II Music

Cheers

China like you’ve never seen it.

I have been sitting in front of the screen working for a better part of this rainy Saturday and on the screen to my right I have been playing Wild China. Now this is a show I have seen many times and blown away equally each time I watch it. Kept thinking to myself, “I wish I could share this with others and encourage them to watch it”, and then I remembered I have a blog lol. And with that, Saturday’s post is born.

Everyone knows about China and how it’s a modern day political/economical/technological powerhouse. However I don’t think very many people know much about the culture/life of China and it’s people outside those 3 points of interest, or whatever is picked up from the news. Well, that is where Wild China really steps in. A 6 episode series put on by the BBC Earth network that looks into the culture, history, traditions, and wildlife of the China you most likely have never heard of.

Did you know that there is a small group of people in the South West regions of China that consider large wasp larvae a delicacy? Nope I bet you didn’t, and I bet you didn’t know that in order to get to the delectables they lure a single wasp in and tie a feather around it so they can follow it back to the main nest… That is just one small thing that this show discusses. I also did not know that you can fish…. USING BIRDS… Yeh, peep the clip it’s incredible.

The show is beyond incredible and educating. I would seriously recommend it for anyone. Each episode is an hour long and covers a different part of the vast country. Check out the excerpts I have included and def give the show a watch. It is still aired on tv, but can also be found on DVD/Blu Ray, and streaming via amazon.com (entire series completely free to Prime Members).

Until tomorrow…

Booze… On a Thursday?

Ok, I have been bad about the day to day posting. I even missed booze day. So to make up for it, not only am I going to give a quick shout out to some classy liquid deliciousness, I was going to post about more stuff, but after writing this I am going to want to have some drinks myself… So yeh this is what your getting today.

First up, Crystal Head Vodka. I literally don’t need to do anything other then say “find $60, and buy a bottle”. But I will go a bit further and give you the nitty gritty… Ready?

  • It’s from Canada
  • It’s promoted by Dan Aykroyd
  • The bottle is fashioned after the legendary Crystal Skulls (not the horrible movie that killed Indy forever)
  • It’s Quadruple Distilled IN FUCKING DIAMONDS… Seriously

So now I will let this video do the rest, cus literally I can’t top the diamonds. Oh YES I have had it, and NO it’s not marketing bullshit that’s selling this. It is actually vodka you can pour over a single cube of ice and drink by itself enjoyably…

Like em on the book face CHV Face Book

Normal Schedule resumes tomorrow with CALVIN AND HOBBES.
